The students will be trained in technologies crucial for quality control of medicinal herbs and phytotherapeutics according to international guidelines and will apply this knowledge for the identification and quality evaluation of known or unknown samples. 

The course imparts knowledge about the identification and quality control of medicinal herbs and phytomedicines based on relevant regulations in the actual pharmacopoeias. Key aspects are the choice of optimal sample pretreatment and combined application of easy accessible analytical techniques as TLC and microscopy.
