This is the second part of the course on the economics of anti-trust (competition) policy. The objectives are to analyze such issues as vertical restraints and vertical merges, predation, monopolization, and other abusive practices.

Inhalt:

Vertical merges, intra-brand and inter-brand competition, anti-competitive effects: leverage and foreclosure. Predatory pricing. Non-price monopolization practices. US vs. Microsoft case study.

Methoden:

Four three-hour lectures given in one block (on two Saturdays in the beginning of June).

Prüfungsmodus:

The questions about the material will be included into the multiple-choice test for the whole course.
