The main course objective is to learn to think as an entrepreneur; to learn the concepts necessary to begin a “start-up” company and to do the research and report writing necessary to develop a business plan that will enable financing and launching a new business.

This course develops attitudes, concepts and skills that enable entrepreneurs and managers to pursue opportunities in spite of uncertainty. The course examines how entrepreneurs and business innovators acquire and manage resources for new ventures and change within organizations. The course also explores current problems and issues in entrepreneurial ventures and change management. Course activities include the preparation of a new venture business plan.

In the course we will employ various means of communication and activities to bring the subject into focus and create a better understanding and practical skills. For example: lectures, seminars and discussions, library research, research techniques, group projects, reports and presentations, examinations, videos, guest speakers (if available), etc. Please Note!! The student is responsible for reading the textbook and assigned texts and cases; however, because of time constraints not all reading assignments will be covered in class. The professor will introduce selected text parts.
