Based on the foundations of tourism theories and approaches the course will explore the process of planning and developing tourism destinations and resorts. Heavy emphasis will be towards the process of planning and developing destination within different regional and cultural contexts.

The Economic Impact of Tourism and Leisure, Tourism Components and Supply, The Tourism Planning and Development Process, The strategic planning process, Planning methods, Tourism Sustainability, The role of Tourism Policies and destination stakeholders, The Implementation of the Plan: from creation to commercialisation

Students learn how to plan, develop and finance tourism projects on the level of a tourism destination. They recognize that there are serious barriers to tourism development .They learn the economic and political aspects of planning and development with a special focus on the management of co-operations and stakeholders.
