The course provides an introduction to project management and implementation of (scientific) projects. The students

• Can explain the terms project, programs, project management
• Can classify and roughly apply the methods of project management
• Can identify and generally describe various project management methodologies
• Can apply the theoretically provided contents in a project
• Can plan a project in teams and carry out a project under the guidance of the course instructor
• Can solve practical problems independentally with the help of project management tools & techniques
• Can use standard project management software for the planning and analysis of simple projects

Introduction to project and program management, methods (and application) of project management, planning of practical vs. scientific projects, project planning, practical project or examples.

Students acquire the necessary skills through:

• active participation in the course
• the deepening of the material through self-study on the basis of provided primary and secondary literature
• working on the assignments individually and in groups  

Course participation, individual and group assignments, application exercises & tasks.  The individual tasks are evaluated with points, the following grading key applies:

• Less than 60 % unsatisfactory
• 60 % to less than 70 % sufficient
• 70% to under 80 % satisfactory
• 80 % to under 90 % good
• More than 90 % very good
