Inhalt:

Theoretical background to Bose-Einstein Condensates in dilute gases and their properties, including Microscopic models, atomic scattering properties, Bogoliubov theory of the weakly interacting Bose gas, and Gross-Pitaevskii theory. Applications to description of ground state properties, elementary and topologiclal excitations. We will also cover atoms in 3D optical lattices, and strongly correlated lattice models, especially the Bose-Hubbard model. Strong connections will be drawn with the experiments throughout.
