Die Studierenden sind in der Lage, einfache Entwurfs- und Planungsaufgaben zu bewältigen. Sie sind fähig, eine Entwurfsaufgabe zu analysieren, ein architektonisches Programm zu formulieren, ein räumliches Konzept zu erstellen und es in eine architektonische Gestaltung von hohem ästhetischem Niveau zu übersetzen. Sie sind in der Lage, ein Projekt zu entwickeln, darzustellen und zu präsentieren.

Thema:

„chopchop chopshop“ stellt die Suche nach neuen Gestaltungslogiken in den Fokus unserer Handlungen und tradiert zwischen Abbruch, Wiederverwertung und Gestaltung unserer physischen Umgebung.

Im Themenbereich von Nachhaltigkeit, ökologischen/ökonomischen Problemen und der Kreislaufwirtschaft, untersucht das diesjährige Entwurfsstudio 2 die Ästhetik von bereits gebautem Umfeld. Durch das Sammeln und Untersuchen von Bauteilen und Gebäudefragmenten, welche bereits maßgeschneiderte Teile bestehender Fügungen darstellen, entdecken wir potenzielle Rohstoffe, die das zukünftige Bauen und Gestalten prägen könnten. Wir achten dabei nicht nur auf physische Begebenheit und Materialität sondern auch im gleichen Maß auf Form, Tektonik und Atmosphäre.

Wir stellen uns die Frage wie mit diesen zukünftig dislozierten Teilen und Fragmente entworfen werden kann. Welche neuen Fügungen können durch verschiedenste Formen der Wiederverwertung gebildet werden? Welche Art von Tektonik entsteht, wenn respektiv auf verfügbare Materie geachtet wird? Wie können wir diesbezüglich Strategien anlegen und auch unseren Begriff für Wertigkeit von Materialität und Tektonik neu definieren? Wie zeigt sich die Ästhetik der Wiederverwertung im urbanen Raum? Welche neuen physischen Beziehungszusammenhänge können wir bilden und welche Haltung nehmen wir dadurch jetzt schon ein?

Methode:
Beginnen werden wir das Semester mit Bestandsaufnahmen, dem Abbruch und der Registrierung von Gebäudeteilen sozusagen. Es entstehen dadurch Bauteil-, Material- und Atmosphärenkataloge welche uns für nächste Schritte als Input zur Verfügung stehen. Durch das Collagieren und Assemblieren, das Zerlegen und Untersuchen, Rekonfigurieren, Zerschneiden, mit Hilfe von KI und physischem Modellbau entstehen so Raumfragmente welche wiederum den Dialog mit Bestandsgebäuden suchen.

Ziel:
Es entstehen dadurch kleine individuelle Architekturen mit sozialem Auftrag im lokalen urbanen Raum. Entworfen wird am, im, und mit Bestand. Zur Repräsentation der Arbeiten am Ende des Semesters werden wir in einer Ausstellung neben Plänen, Bildern und Diagrammen, besonderen Fokus auf Modellbau legen.

Organisatorisches:

Wir werden uns zu wöchentlichen Studiotagen treffen, an welchen wir vor Ort in unterschiedlichen Formaten arbeiten und die Projekte diskutieren werden. Daneben erwarten euch unterschiedlichste Workshops.

Region

With an area of 1.2 million km2, Tibet is often referred to as the roof of the world. Its long enclosed land for thousands of years has preserved and developed its own unique style and created traditions, artefacts and philosophy that still amaze the world with its uniqueness. The land has been rich and untouched until the recent arrival of large machinery and industries that have interest in exploiting the landscape.

Function

By closely examining Tibetan rituals and ceremonies, craft architectural designs that intricately reflect and respond to these social practices. Architectural spaces provide a physical backdrop for rituals, enhancing their emotional and spiritual impact. Rituals are the intangible threads weaving through the tapestry of culture. They encompass ceremonies, traditions, and symbolic practices that connect individuals to a shared sense of purpose and belonging.

Materials

We will take a close look at the materials used in the construction of buildings for thousands of years. Positions and ways in which materials are in dialogue with each other. The properties of materials will be used to the full to create spaces that inspire. Looking at contemporary material mines will give us an idea of what our structures could be made of.

Tectonics

We will start by looking at different kinds of Tibetan staircases and structures. Buildings that are build in the last fifty years and the ones that stand for century. Seeing how different geometries can move us with different speed, pace and feeling through the dynamic landscapes and spaces.

ASwell we will be inspired by the amazing fashion and the colourful, layered clothing that protects us from the cold winds and bright sun.

Method

We will use archives, books, videos, maps, texts, artificial intelligence to support the design process. Geometric explorations with modelling, redrawing of ancient murals, free form drawings, gestural physical models will be turned into a comlex structures, that provide enclave for cultural traditions

Organizational

We will meet for weekly studio days, where we will work on site in different formats and discuss the projects. There are also a variety of workshops waiting for you!
