winter semester 2022/2023 | Last update: 13.04.2023 | Place course on memo listStudents acquire basic knowledge of the topics and methods of educational psychology. They know concepts of teaching and educating in institutional and non-institutional contexts and understand the influence of the school environment as well as social and cultural factors on individual learning. They are able to apply their knowledge of learning and development to practical problems.
After an introduction to the theories and methods of educational psychology, central aspects are discussed: Basic questions of upbringing, education and pedagogical interactions, quality of school and teaching, determinants of school performance and educational processes, knowledge acquisition, learning motivation and self-directed learning, significance of social and cultural factors for educational and upbringing processes, pedagogical interventions and intervention settings incl. legal as well as family and social policy regulations.
